Language Assistants

Let me introduce you to our language assistant. They will be in our classes from preschool to Bachillerato.

Hello, my name is Brenda. I'm 26 and I grew up in a small town called Tracy in California. I studied history at Gonzaga University is Spokane, Washington. I studied abroad my junior year in Florence, Italy, and I fell in love with traveling. After college I did a Master's program at Loyola Marymount University called PLACE Corps, where we taught in inner city Los Angeles' schools and completed a Master's in education. I decided to go abroad and teach English and have the opportunity to travel more. I have been in Madrid two years teaching in a school and preparing students for Trinity and Cambridge exams. I have also been traveling a lot. In my free time I like to play volleyball, watch movies, and hang out with my friends.

My name is Pavel, and I am a language assistant at Torrente Ballester. I have been living in the Madrid for over two years now, and this is my third year as a language assistant in Spain.

I am from the Grand Canyon State of Arizona located in the southwest part of the U.S.A which is where I went to university. I studied at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. There, I studied three bachelor’s degrees in English/Spanish Translation & Interpretation, Spanish, and Global Business Management & Leadership. I am now continuing my education by studying at Complutense University of Madrid. This is my second year studying a Master’s in International Communication and Translation.

I truly enjoy living life in Madrid and in Spain in general. Madrid is one of my favorite cities in the world. It is simply a joyful city where you can find anything and everything. It is a city that is full of surprises where life is never dull.

My interests are quite eclectic as they range from music to traveling and to simply enjoying my time with my friends. I have an affinity for music as I am a violinist, and I have been involved in the world of music since a very early age. I basically enjoy anything related to music and art.

I am excited to be a part of Torrente Ballester this year. With two years of experience under my belt now, I hope to be able to contribute in many different ways to the school and to continue learning even more from teaching.

See you tomorrow at school!
